About

Hi, I'm Darlene J. Weiss, an I-ACT certified colon hydrotherapist & instructor, a Certified Nutritionist, Functional Medicine Practitioner, & Wellness Coach.

When I tell of my personal health journey I typically begin in high school, as I now speculate I had Crohn's Disease, though it was never diagnosed. Being born & raised in Las Vegas I was saturated with buffets, processed foods, & standard American diet, & my health suffered.

I was 19 when I had my first colonic & it really showed me how dissociated I was from my body like nothing else. That led me into my now 20 year journey of discovering what worked for me. Now as I get older, I often joke I am getting younger as I find myself with more energy & health as I age.

While under my care, my sensitivity to your needs, humor, confidence and hospitality will put your mind at ease knowing you are in good hands.

I believe in the mind, body, spirit connection and that the colon is the second brain in its ability to determine one's health. I honor that every body is different and so is what health routine will work best for you. I also pride myself on connecting the community based health network to facilitate long-term lifestyle changes and develop a positive support system.

Why is Living Waters Different?

Living Waters is particularly unique as I integrate cutting-edge Functional Medicine, nutrition, & lifestyle practices with traditional & natural therapies. While both paradigms offer gems of wisdom, blended together they greatly advance the healing benefits of colon care, cleansing, detoxification & biotransformation, & just about any other aspect of health care.

I have two unwavering desires while on this career path: 1) to merge the wisdom of colon hydrotherapy, also known as colonics, with modern Functional Medicine because, according to what I have been through, it just makes SO much sense; 2) assist in recreating a new health care model where lifestyle & nutrition is at the forefront of medicine.

Our bodies want to heal & thrive & identifying what obstacles are in our way can alleviate a ton of symptoms & dis-ease. For this, I employ a 'foods, moods, & poos' approach to wellness. You can download more information on this here.

The Herstory of Living Waters

Living Waters Colon Hydrotherapy was established & started serving Nevada County in 2001. I took over in 2008 as I ended up supporting myself through the later part of my education providing this wonderful service. I went on to finish my undergraduate degree as pre-med, biomedical & chemistry major, but I wanted to understand more in depth to why I witnessed so many find healing with different approaches, colonics being one of them, understand more fully how my personal journey could have been more efficient, & I wanted to practice within my ethos. This led me to continue on & complete a Master's Degree in Human Nutrition & Functional Medicine in 2016.
